Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Today you will arrive in Ushuaia after which you will get transferred to your overnight hotel.

Day 2
Ushuaia Beagle Channel

Free morning in Ushuaia. This afternoon you will board your cruise for your journey to Antarctica!

Day 3
Beagle Channel & Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)

Travelling east, enjoy some lectures on board about the voyage ahead.

Day 4-5
Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) Southern Ocean

Today you will experience the rare opportunity to witness the biological diversity & extraordinary scenery of the southern Falkland Islands. You will see many penguins as well as the largest black-browed albatross colony in the world. In Stanley, meet the hardy local inhabitants whose colourful houses provide contrast to the long, dark winters.

Day 6-7
Southern Ocean South Georgia

Heading east, we soon will arrive in South Georgia. During sea days you will be able to enjoy many lectures with information on the landings & sights ahead.

Day 8-11
South Georgia Scotia Sea

This is where the grave of Earnest Shackleton, the polar explorer can be found.
South Georgia is also known for its whaling station and it boasts plenty of wildlife. We see a vast colony of king penguins, which is sure to be one of the highlights of the expedition. We will spend 3 full days exploring the island (weather permitting).

Day 12-13
Scotia Sea Tierra do O’Higgins, Peninsula

Sit back & enjoy these two days of sailing, retracing Shacklenton’s route backwards on course towards Elephant Island & the Antarctic Peninsula.

Day 14-18
Tierra de O’Higgins, Peninsula Drake Passage

You will experience some of the most unique wildlife & amazing scenery in the world. Here we aim to have two shore landings per day (subject to weather conditions) and will encounter gentoo, chinstrap & Adélie penguin rookeries, as well as weddell, crabeater, & leopard seals. It is very common to see orcas, humpback and minke whales in the cold Antarctic waters. The peninsula also has a remarkable human history.

Day 19-20
Drake Passage

As the expeditions draws to an end, take time to reflect on the extraordinary experiences you will have had over the past few days. There is even the chance of spotting a whale or two.

Day 21
Ushuaia Depart

Arrive back in to Ushuaia this morning.
