Travel Scandinavia and Finland
Remote untouched wilderness, Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis, stunning lakes, ice hotels and glass domes, reindeers, midnight sun, huskies and of course, Santa Claus. This is just some of the amazing things that can be found on a tour of Scandinavia!
Norway is a country where you can encounter some of the most beautiful landscapes - travel away from the crowds on foot with vistas that will leave you awe struct. In summer experience the midnight sun with 24 hours of day light, giving you an opportunity to explore at all hours. You can enjoy the beauty of Norway by cruising through the Norwegian fjords, taking the scenic flam railway and hiking along the many trails. In winter there is of course the snow and a better chance of seeing the remarkable Northern Lights! A trip to Norway is a must!
Finland has some of the most beautiful landscapes and diverse wilderness in Europe. Finland is magical for many reasons but especially in winter because in the far north of Finnish Lapland you can not only see the northern lights, but you can also visit Father Christmas himself in Santa Claus’ village which is fun for children and adults alike. Other fantastic bucket list experiences along the way include visiting Inari, the Sami capital to learn all about their fascinating culture and life in the extreme north. Visit husky dogs, perhaps take a dog sleigh ride through the wilderness, or spend a night in an igloo hotel.
Scandinavia is one of the best places to view the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis and in winter the chances of seeing them is very high. Our tours spend a lot of time above the Arctic circle which means viewing the lights is one of the most remarkable experiences. On our Northern Lights trip, we offer a Northern Lights Promise: If the Northern Lights are not recorded during your Follow the Lights tour, we will give you another chance on a 6 or 7-day Classic Voyage FREE OF CHARGE*.
Our Scandinavia and Finland tours are a great way to experience the Arctic by train, car, and cruise with various tour lengths. The Follow the Lights 18-day northbound adventure is a great way to experience it all but if you are short on time, ask us about the 14-day southbound tour.
If polar bears, walruses and high arctic wildlife are on your bucket list, then Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago located between mainland Norway and the North Pole is the place to go.
