Small Ship Cruising

Small cruise vessels range from private yachts carrying as few as 12 guests to expedition ships of around 200. As a rule, the smaller the ship, the closer you get to the landscape and wildlife.

Some of the world's most remarkable destinations can't be reached any other way. Small ship cruising is the gateway to places larger vessels can't go: the ice shelves of Antarctica, the volcanic waterways of the Galapagos, the fjords of Patagonia and the wild far north of the Arctic.

And that's the enticement. On a small ship expedition cruise, the shopping ports and evening shows are replaced with zodiac landings and naturalist-led excursions. Every day lands you somewhere very few people ever get to see.

Our small-ship cruise holidays span every region we work in. In Latin America, that means the Galapagos Islands, the Peruvian Amazon, Patagonia's remote fjords and the Panama Canal. In Antarctica, voyages around the Peninsula or down to South Georgia and the Falklands combine spectacular wildlife with icebergs and glaciers. In the Arctic, journeys through Svalbard and Greenland put you in polar bear territory. Closer to home, small vessels explore New Zealand's Fiordland and the Sub-Antarctic Islands.

On board, comfortable cabins and excellent food. Off board, the adventure of a lifetime.

Our Destination Specialists have sailed many of these routes themselves and will help you match the right cruise to your preferred travel style.
