Each October and November, hundreds of polar bears gather near Churchill as they wait for the sea ice to return to Hudson Bay, creating one of the world’s most remarkable opportunities to see wild polar bears in their natural habitat.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive at Winnipeg

Upon arrival in Winnipeg, check in to your conveniently located airport hotel. Later, join a welcome reception hosted by a Frontiers North Interpretive Guide, who will introduce you to the journey ahead.

Overnight in Winnipeg

Day 2
Churchill

This morning, take an early charter flight to Churchill, the Polar Bear Capital of the World, where you will set out on a guided tour of the town and surrounding area. Visit the Itsanitaq Museum and enjoy a cultural presentation led by a local Indigenous Churchill resident.

Day 3
Tundra Buggy Lodge

Begin the day with an exciting dog-sledding experience and interpretive program, followed by a visit to the Parks Canada Visitor Centre.

In the afternoon, travel across the tundra aboard a Tundra Buggy® to the Tundra Buggy Lodge, where you will spend the night.

Day 4
Tundra Buggy Adventures

Spend a full day exploring the vast Churchill Wildlife Management Area aboard a specially designed Tundra Buggy®. As you travel across the remote Arctic landscape, keep watch for polar bears and other northern wildlife while your guide shares insights into the region’s unique ecosystem.

Experience an intimate encounter with a wild polar bear from a Tundra Buggy®. Our Tundra Buggy® is furnished with dual-pane frost-free windows. Each guest has their own window seat for viewing.

Return to the Tundra Buggy Lodge for another memorable overnight stay in the heart of the tundra.

Day 5
Tundra Buggy Adventures

Another full day of thrilling Tundra Buggy® adventure in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, searching for polar bears and Arctic wildlife.

Day 6
Final Tundra Buggy Adventure

Enjoy another full day exploring the Churchill Wildlife Management Area aboard a Tundra Buggy®, with further opportunities to observe polar bears and other Arctic wildlife in their natural habitat.

In the evening, fly back to Winnipeg and check in to your hotel for the night.

Depart Winnipeg
