On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport guests will be met and transferred to the lodge.

Against the backdrop of the grandiose Drakensberg mountain range lies Shiduli Private Game Lodge. Traversing over the 9000 hectares of supreme African bushveld, Shiduli Private Game Lodge is home to the Big Five as well as a wealth of other creatures. Our open vehicle game drives are perfect for game viewing.

Enjoy a sundowner while the sun sets over the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains. The magnificent game viewing makes for perfect photographic opportunities; enjoy the view of the Lowveld from a “kopje” amid the lush vegetation, huge variety of trees and over 365 different bird species. Game drives are conducted with our qualified game rangers and Shangaan trackers – who will share their vast experience of the African Bush.

For those travelling with children, the Little Paws Programme offers a fun-filled and interactive experience designed especially for younger guests. Activities include hair braiding, face painting, board games, a children's foot spa, cookie and pizza making, bubbles, clay crafts, and even a veggie garden experience. Kids can also enjoy "Tracker 101," a playful introduction to wildlife tracking. Today enjoy a a full-day guided tour along the spectacular Panorama Route, one of South Africa’s most scenic drives. Nestled in the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, this route showcases awe-inspiring landscapes that rival some of the most beautiful in the world.

Your journey includes highlights such as The Pinnacle Rock, a 30-metre-high quartzite formation rising dramatically from the forest, and God’s Window, a famous viewpoint offering sweeping views over the Lowveld — on clear days, you may even catch a glimpse of Mozambique. You’ll also visit the Blyde River Canyon, the world’s third-largest canyon, and the iconic Three Rondavels, towering dolomite peaks shaped like traditional huts.

Marvel at the geological wonder of Bourke’s Luck Potholes, where centuries of swirling water have carved intricate patterns into the rock. The tour also includes a stop at the impressive Lisbon Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in the region.

Lunch is at a local restaurant along the route (own account), and you’ll have the chance to browse vibrant roadside craft markets. Do note that weather conditions can affect visibility, so clear skies will enhance your experience of the breathtaking views.

This insightful tour offers a glimpse into the daily lives, traditions, and culture of the local community. You'll have the opportunity to engage with residents, learn about their way of life, and connect with children at a grassroots level. It’s a meaningful and enriching experience that fosters genuine cultural exchange and understanding.

Today rise early and transfer to the Jabulani Homestead on the edge of the HERD Elephant Orphanage for a meaningful wildlife experience at Elephant Moments> Here you will have a respectful 90-minute encounter with 2–3 members of the Jabulani Herd. The elephants remain behind a low partition, allowing visitors to learn about their stories, behaviour, and care while maintaining a comfortable distance. The orphaned elephants at HERD are not viewable to the public to ensure minimal stress, and all proceeds support the HERD Trust, South Africa’s first elephant orphanage.

After the experience, continue to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC), a leader in the conservation of cheetahs, rhinos, and other threatened species since 1990. A two-hour guided tour offers a close-up look at animals in their care—including cheetahs, rhinos, wild dogs, leopard, sable antelope, and ground hornbill—with a highlight being the Vulture Restaurant, where hundreds of vultures gather to feed. Educational, inspiring, and impactful, this combined experience showcases vital conservation work while giving visitors a deeper understanding of South Africa’s wildlife and the efforts to protect it.

Afterwards head back to your lodge for some time at leisure before your afternoon game drive.
