Mount Toubkal Summit Trek

From Marrakech to Marrakech

Tour Overview

Challenge yourself to reach the summit of Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak, rising to 4,167 metres in the spectacular High Atlas Mountains.

Beginning in the vibrant city of Marrakech, this rewarding trek takes you deep into Morocco's mountain heartland, where ancient Berber villages, dramatic valleys and rugged alpine landscapes create an experience that is as culturally rich as it is physically rewarding. More than simply reaching the summit, this journey is about slowing down, embracing the rhythm of mountain life and discovering a side of Morocco few travellers experience.

As you trek through the Ait Mizane Valley, pass the sacred pilgrimage site of Sidi Chamharouch and ascend towards Toubkal Base Camp, you'll witness ever-changing scenery, from terraced farmland and walnut groves to rocky mountain passes and sweeping panoramas. Supported by an experienced mountain team, including a licensed guide, dedicated cook and mule handlers carrying your luggage, you can focus on enjoying the journey while being well looked after every step of the way.

Summit day is both the greatest challenge and the greatest reward. An early morning ascent brings you to the roof of North Africa, where spectacular 360-degree views stretch across the High Atlas Mountains, the plains surrounding Marrakech and, on clear days, towards the Sahara Desert. Standing on the summit is a genuine achievement, rewarding your determination with one of Morocco's most unforgettable views.

Whether you're seeking your first high-altitude trekking adventure or looking to add another iconic peak to your list, the Toubkal Ascent Experience combines incredible mountain scenery, authentic cultural encounters and the satisfaction of reaching one of Africa's great summits.

Top Tip! Extend your adventure with a few extra days exploring the colourful souks and palaces of Marrakech, the dramatic kasbahs of the Atlas foothills, or journey into the Sahara Desert for a night beneath the stars.
