Day 3
Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Wake to the sounds of the bush and head out to explore Ol Pejeta with your guide.

Today includes two special conservation experiences that offer a fascinating insight into the work taking place here. Meet the last two remaining northern white rhinos and learn about the extraordinary efforts being made to protect them and preserve their genetic legacy.
You will also join a dog-tracking experience, meeting the specially trained dogs and their handlers who play an important role in Ol Pejeta’s anti-poaching and conservation work. Both experiences are included in this itinerary.

There will also be time to explore the conservancy on safari. Ol Pejeta’s mix of open grasslands, acacia woodland, wetlands and riverine habitat supports an impressive diversity of wildlife. Keep watch for elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard, alongside both black and southern white rhino.
Return to your camp between activities and enjoy the relaxed rhythm of life in the bush.

Overnight: Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

Day 4
Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Enjoy another full day exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Head out on scheduled game drives with your guide, following wildlife movements and making the most of sightings as they unfold. You might spend time searching for predators, watching elephants moving across the plains or enjoying another encounter with the conservancy’s rhinos.
Having a second full day gives you the chance to slow down and appreciate more than just the headline wildlife. Your guide will introduce you to the smaller details of the ecosystem and the conservation story that makes Ol Pejeta such a rewarding place to visit.
Later, return to your camp and enjoy your final evening in this special corner of Kenya.

Overnight: Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

Day 5
Ol Pejeta Conservancy Maasai Mara

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to the Maasai Mara. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp.
Welcome to one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. The Maasai Mara’s sweeping grasslands, riverine forests and abundance of wildlife create the setting for some truly exceptional safari experiences.

Once settled in, head out to begin exploring the reserve. Lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe and huge numbers of plains game are among the many species that can be encountered here.

Return to your camp as evening falls and settle in for your first night in the Mara.

Overnight: Emboo Camp

Day 6
Maasai Mara

Today begins with a very different view of the Maasai Mara as you take to the skies on an included hot air balloon safari.

Floating silently above the plains in the early morning light is a spectacular way to appreciate the sheer scale of the landscape. From above, look down on winding rivers, open savannah and wildlife moving across the plains below.

Back on the ground, continue exploring the Mara on safari. The reserve is renowned for its predators, and your guide will use their knowledge of the area to search for lion, leopard and cheetah. There is plenty more to discover too, from large herds of elephant and buffalo to giraffe, zebra, antelope and prolific birdlife.
Return to your camp with time to relax and enjoy the surroundings after another memorable day.

Overnight: Emboo Camp

Day 7
Maasai Mara

Enjoy another full day immersed in the Maasai Mara.

Early mornings are particularly special, when temperatures are cooler and predators may still be active after the night. Follow fresh tracks with your guide, spend time watching a pride of lions or perhaps encounter a cheetah scanning the open grasslands.

Having another full day allows you to take your time. Rather than rushing from one sighting to another, there is the opportunity to linger and watch wildlife behaviour unfold — often where the most memorable safari moments are found.

Between activities, return to your camp to relax before heading out again as the afternoon begins to cool.

Overnight: Emboo Camp

Day 8
Maasai Mara Serengeti

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight across the border into Tanzania and the Serengeti. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp.

Ubuntu Migration Camp is designed around one simple idea: to put you in the right place at the right time to experience the Great Migration. The camp moves seasonally between carefully selected locations in the northern and southern Serengeti, maximising both wildlife access and the feeling of exclusivity.
From June to mid-November, Ubuntu is positioned in the northern Serengeti, where fewer camps and vehicles make for a wonderfully wild safari experience. This is the season when migrating herds move through the region and gather around the rivers, bringing the possibility of witnessing the dramatic crossings for which the Great Migration is so famous.

From mid-December to mid-March, the camp moves to the southern Serengeti, overlooking expansive plains filled with migrating wildebeest. This is also excellent predator country, particularly during the calving season, when vulnerable newborns attract lion, cheetah and other predators.
Wherever Ubuntu is positioned, its seasonal approach means you are wonderfully placed to explore the migration and follow the action as it unfolds.

After settling into your camp, head out on safari and begin discovering the remarkable wildlife and landscapes of the Serengeti.

Overnight: Ubuntu Migration Camp

Day 9
Serengeti National Park

Rise early and venture into the Serengeti with your guide.

Today also includes a short walking safari, offering the chance to step out of the vehicle and experience the landscape from an entirely different perspective.
On foot, the focus shifts to the details: tracks in the earth, plants, insects, bird calls and the signs animals leave behind. Accompanied by an experienced guide, it is a fantastic introduction to the interconnected ecosystem that surrounds you.

Continue exploring on game drives, following wildlife movements and seeing what the day brings. The Serengeti supports exceptional wildlife year-round, so while the migration is an exciting part of the story, there is always plenty happening on the plains.
Return to your camp after another day in one of Africa’s most iconic wilderness areas.

Overnight: Ubuntu Migration Camp

Day 10
Serengeti National Park

Enjoy another full day exploring the Serengeti.

There is no fixed script on safari. Your guide will use their knowledge of the area, tracks, recent sightings and wildlife movements to determine where the day might lead.

You may spend time watching a pride of lions, find cheetah moving through the grasslands or encounter elephant and giraffe against the Serengeti’s expansive horizons. Depending on the season, your day may also be shaped by the movements of the migrating herds.
This flexibility is one of the joys of safari. Sometimes the most memorable moments are completely unexpected — a predator interaction, a herd appearing over the horizon or simply stopping somewhere beautiful to enjoy the silence and immense sense of space.

Return to your camp for your final evening in the Serengeti.

Overnight: Ubuntu Migration Camp

Day 11
Serengeti Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight south to Ruaha National Park. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp.

Today brings a significant change of scenery as you leave Tanzania’s famous northern safari circuit behind and venture into the remote Usangu Wetlands.
This vast and little-explored ecosystem lies on the southern reaches of Ruaha National Park, where grassy floodplains, wetlands and miombo woodland create a very different safari experience.

Settle into your intimate expedition-style camp and take some time to appreciate the feeling of being somewhere truly remote.

Overnight: Usangu Expedition Camp

Day 12
Exploring the Usangu Wetlands

Today is dedicated to exploring the wonderfully wild landscapes of Usangu.

Head out with your guide to discover an ecosystem of grassy floodplains, miombo woodland, marshes and wetlands. Wildlife found in the wider area includes elephant, giraffe, predators and an intriguing variety of antelope, while the wetlands attract prolific birdlife.
What makes Usangu particularly special is the variety of ways you can experience the wilderness. Alongside game drives, activities available from camp include walking safaris, boating and fishing, depending on conditions.

With few other visitors exploring this remote corner of Ruaha, there is a wonderful sense of discovery to your time here.

Return to your camp in the evening and enjoy the expedition atmosphere beneath a vast southern Tanzanian sky.

Overnight: Usangu Expedition Camp

Day 13
Ruaha National Park

Spend another full day immersed in the Usangu wilderness.

Your activities will be planned around conditions and wildlife movements, giving you the freedom to explore by vehicle, head out on foot or spend time around the wetlands.

Usangu also offers a fascinating insight into conservation and research. Camera trapping and biodiversity data collection are among the experiences available from camp, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of this remote ecosystem.
It gives your time here a slightly different feel from a traditional safari. You’re not simply observing the wilderness but learning more about how researchers and conservationists are working to understand and protect it.

As the afternoon light begins to soften, enjoy your final evening in this remote corner of Ruaha.

Overnight: Usangu Expedition Camp

Day 14
Ruaha Nyerere National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Nyerere National Park. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp.

The scenery changes once again as you arrive in a landscape shaped by rivers, lakes, palm trees and seasonal wetlands.
Nyerere is one of Africa’s great wilderness areas, and its network of waterways creates a safari experience quite different from the open plains of the Mara and Serengeti.

Settle into your camp overlooking the water before beginning your exploration of this beautiful national park.

Overnight: Roho ya Selous

Day 15
Nyerere National Park

Wake to the sounds of the bush and head out to explore Nyerere National Park.

Game drives reveal an impressive variety of wildlife, including lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and leopard. Nyerere is also particularly well known for African wild dogs, one of the continent’s most charismatic and endangered predators.

One of the real highlights here is the ability to experience the wilderness in several different ways. Alongside game drives, walking and boating safaris are included amongst the activities available from your camp.

Take to the water and the perspective changes completely. Cruise past pods of hippo and crocodiles basking along the banks, watch colourful birdlife around the water’s edge and keep an eye out for larger animals coming down to drink.

Return to your camp and enjoy another evening surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Overnight: Roho ya Selous

Day 16
Nyerere National Park

Your final full day on safari is yours to make the most of this extraordinary wilderness.

Head out by vehicle in search of wildlife, explore on foot with an experienced guide or return to the waterways for another boating safari.
After more than two weeks travelling through East Africa, you will have experienced an incredible variety of landscapes and safari styles — from the conservation success stories of Ol Pejeta and the wildlife-rich plains of the Maasai Mara and Serengeti to the remote wetlands of Ruaha and waterways of Nyerere.

Take time to enjoy these final hours in the bush before returning to your camp for your last evening on safari.

Overnight: Roho ya Selous

Day 17
Nyerere National Park Dar es Salaam

Enjoy a final morning in the wilderness before saying goodbye to your camp.

Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Dar es Salaam. On arrival, continue with your onward travel arrangements.
