Day 1
Guatemala City or Antigua Copan, Honduras

You will be transferred from Guatemala City in Guatemala across the border into Honduras. Your destination is the village of Copan, the gateway to Copan Ruins. The town itself is charming thanks to its cobblestone streets and adobe buildings. There’s a beautiful main square with a colonial church and a research centre which has fantastic tea, chocolates and souvenirs. After your arrival, you’re free to explore at your leisure.

Day 2
Copán Ruins

Today you will enjoy a private guided tour of the Copan Ruins and The Copan Sculpture Museum.Considered one of the Maya’s most impressive sites, the ruins of Copan began as a small agricultural village in around 1000 BC and grew into a city that housed 20,000 people in the early 9th century. Two large pyramids, stone temples, residential areas, a ball court, some stairways and several plazas remain from the ancient city. You will have the opportunity to visit the Square of Ceremonies, Temple 22, the Tribune of Spectators, the Stairway of Jaguars and the Stair of Hieroglyphics among other key sites. Back in town, the Copan Sculpture Museum houses exhibits stone carvings, scuptures and replicas of some of the stone reliefs and structures of the Maya from the Copan Ruins.

Day 3
Copán Guatemala City

Travelling back from Copan to Guatemala City, you will stop enroute for a guided tour of Quirigua Archaeological Park. Considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Quirigua was built in the classic Maya period between 200 and 900 AD. Situated within dense tropical vegetation, the site features a Great Plaza, the Plaza of the Temple, The Great Turtle Altar and one of the tallest steles of the Maya civilisation (at up to ten metres tall). After your stop you will continue to Guatemala City and be transported to the airport to depart for your next destination
