Day 6
Great Rift Valley Masai Mara Reserve

Enjoy breakfast before departing for the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch.

Mara Intrepids is situated within a special Leopard sighting zone in the Maasai Mara. The camp is conveniently located just a short distance from the Mara River, where more than a million wildebeest and zebra undertake their dramatic migration crossing annually. Even outside of this migration period, the camp offers exceptional game viewing opportunities, boasting substantial populations of local plains game such as elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and all the iconic Big Cats. Notably, in 2004, around 75% of the footage for the renowned BBC series Big Cat Diary was filmed near the camp.

Operating under strict eco-friendly principles, Mara Intrepids utilizes innovative methods such as generating hot water from burned coffee husks, mulching biodegradable waste for compost, and recycling all wastewater through an on-site constructed wetland.

After some time at leisure, enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 7
Masai Mara Reserve

Today enjoy your scheduled game activities

The game drives in this central triangle of the Maasai Mara are truly exceptional and unmatched. Here, the plains teem with wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, bat-eared foxes, and various antelopes. These animals are prominently visible in the expansive plains that separate the rivers. Near this area is the confluence of rivers, a significant point where tens of thousands of wildebeest cross during their annual migration.

Compared to the eastern part of the reserve, this section receives fewer visitors, allowing for uninterrupted drives where it's possible to go long stretches without encountering another vehicle. It's a unique opportunity to immerse oneself fully in the wilderness and observe the wildlife in their natural habitat.
