Saruni Samburu enjoys a coveted location, boasting some of the finest vistas in Kenya. Nestled within the Kalama Conservancy adjacent to Samburu National Reserve in Kenya's untamed northern region, this lodge's design and its villas offer panoramic views of waterholes where the renowned Samburu elephant, leopard, reticulated giraffe, and Grevy zebra often gather to quench their thirst.

The sheer vastness and untouched beauty of this African landscape, coupled with the preservation of local culture, create a wildlife safari experience like no other. While we are close enough to explore Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve, and West Gate Conservancy through game drives, Kalama, a well-kept secret in Kenya's North, also hosts numerous activities. The recent introduction of water sources has turned Kalama into a significant attraction for Samburu wildlife.

Our diverse activities encompass night and morning game drives in Kalama Conservancy, rock climbing, expert-led game walks, bush dinners, and stargazing. The rich traditions and semi-nomadic heritage of the local Samburu people play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience. Guided by professional Samburu guides, our guests enjoy a unique perspective of this rightfully popular region: the sense of exclusivity, the privilege of having an incredibly vast area almost entirely to themselves, and a high level of comfort and personalized service.

Your stay at Saruni Samburu includes full board, all soft drinks, beers, house wines, non-luxury spirits, guided walks, shared day and night game drives, bush meals, sundowners, picnic excursions, and laundry services.

Today, your journey will begin with a two-hour road transfer from the lodge to Sera Conservancy and Saruni Rhino. This unique camp is nestled amidst swaying doum palms along the sandy banks of a dry riverbed known as a 'lugga.'

Upon arrival at the camp, savor lunch while taking in the breathtaking vistas of a waterhole frequented by elephants. In the late afternoon, embark on a thrilling Rhino Tracking Experience. You'll drive to a point near the endangered black rhino, and then, with the guidance and protection of an expert guide and a ranger, you'll continue on foot to track the rhino.
