Juanita Vallejo
Marketing Coordinator
¡Hola! My name is Juanita, and I'm thrilled to share a glimpse of my journey with you.
Originally from the beautiful country of Colombia, I've found my second home in the breathtaking New Zealand.
With over a decade of experience in the areas of Communication Management and Marketing, I bring a unique blend of knowledge and passion to the table. My background in Public Relations in Colombia and my experience working with NZ businesses has sculpted me into the #1 advocate for the brands and businesses I work with. My true joy lies in championing their best interests, fueling their growth with my skill set, and watching us both thrive. I'm here at Viva to support any Marketing needs, but also to champion our brand in all levels I can offer!
My Roots: Colombia
Colombia, once plagued by misconceptions, has transformed into a beacon of warmth and hospitality. It's a place where magic dances in every corner, where the vibrancy of its people matches the richness of its landscapes.
Ah, and coffee!! coffee. It's one of my most sacred things. It's a ritual that grounds me in my Colombian roots. Whether shared with friends or alone, each sip tells a story of tradition and connection. I love the social part of it as well, coffee with friends or with the delightful ladies at the office every morning! So so good!
Some of my favourite places to eat?
Oh I love eating out! My favs are La Mexicana in Grey Lynn, Madame George in Kroad y ChopChop in Ponsonby. Auckland's diverse culinary scene has captured my heart. Exploring its flavours and soaking in its hospitality is a delight I never tire of. At Viva Expeditions, I love learning and discovering this part in each of our destinations, and I love that we offer in our tours recommendations for travellers to discover where is best to eat or do in each destination.
Fav Travel Memory
One of my fondest travel memories traces back to my solo adventure to New Zealand at 17. It was a leap of faith, a journey of self-discovery fueled by a thirst for exploration. From there, I ventured to Thailand at 18, immersing myself in its wonders for a month.
Then I visited a few friends I made from Argentina and Chile and traveled by bus for 22 hours through the Andes. Mind Blowing!
I have been to the US a few times and my fav place is definitely New York, it's got my whole heart!
Traveling with a Colombian passport has its challenges, but with my upcoming New Zealand citizenship and the wealth of knowledge I'm cultivating at Viva, I'm poised to conquer the world.
What do I love most about my job?
It's the opportunity to blend my passions and skills with purpose, to craft experiences that linger in the hearts of our travellers long after they've returned home. It's about creating connections, fostering understanding, and igniting a love affair with the world of travel, one journey at a time.
