Cruise the Amazon aboard the elegant and luxurious Delfin III and experience the wonders of the Peruvian Amazon. On this Amazon river cruise delve into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, one of the largest protected flooded forests in the world, with its fascinating array of flora and fauna. Our naturalist guide will inform you of all the incredible life that inhabits this abundant region as you cruise along rivers and tributaries.

The cruise includes walks through the rainforest to observe the incredible animals,  exploration via skiff boats, the chance to swim with the famous Amazon river dolphins or to fish for the infamous piranha. There is also plenty of time to simply sit back and soak up the incredible scenery from your room's panoramic windows or the observation lounges, or to marvel at the night sky. Each day of your cruise holiday you will be served delicious meals created from local ingredients and inspired by Peruvian cuisine and the surrounding rainforest. 

The Delfin III offers 22 suites with the highest levels of comfort for up to 44 passengers. On the first deck, there are 9 Suites complete with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows as well as 2 spacious Corner Suites facing the front of the ship. The second deck is comprised of 10 Upper Suites and the largest of all, the Owner’s Suite. The top deck features beautiful indoor and outdoor lounge areas, a sundeck with plunge pool, a spa and gym, and of course the bar.

High Water Season: From November to May - at this time more explorations will be done via skiff boats
Low Water Season: From June to October - this time allows for more trail walking in the jungle

Day 1
Iquitos Amazon Cruise embarkation

**Note, this is the low water season itinerary from June to October

Arrive to the Amazon city of Iquitos:
Our crew will be expecting your arrival at the airport, then transfer all together in our comfortable private vehicle. We will start you off with a lunchbox as we begin the journey to Nauta.

Arrive to Nauta port:
Nauta is a small riverside town on the banks of the Marañon River and was the first city founded in the department of Loreto. Once we reach Nauta, you will enjoy a VIP greeting at our private port along the shores of the Marañon River
where the vessel awaits you.

Embarkation:
Aboard Delfin, you will be served by our qualified staff who will introduce you to your exquisite and cozy suite, specially equipped with all the amenities for the experienced traveler as yourself. Orthopedic beds, pure cotton sheets, pillows of 100% pure natural latex, cotton bathrobes, air conditioning, and private bathroom with Spanish style hot water showers are all framed with a spacious private terrace we are sure you will enjoy to the fullest.

Orientation:
While the Delfin begins its initial navigation, you will enjoy the most fantastic panoramic views from the elegantly outfitted observation area located on our third deck. Your naturalist guide will give you an overview of your journey’s schedule, activities, route, highlights, wildlife and vegetation to keep your eye out for, geographical and historical
background, and other useful details.

Marañón River:
We head down into the Marañon River. This lovely spot is an ideal place to spend some time in search of birds and playful monkeys. As your naturalist guide spots various creatures for you, The landscape adorned by the usual colors of the sun´s reflections is a great photo opportunity as you witness your first Amazon Rainforest Sunset.

Day 2
Yanallpa Dorado River

Yanallpa:
Begin the day with a skiff excursion through Yanallpa, just before breakfast, as the rainforest holds the quiet mystery of dawn. At this magical hour, the river becomes a mirror for the first morning light, while birds and monkeys announce the forest’s awakening in a chorus of life.

Dorado River:
In the afternoon, we’ll navigate toward the golden waters of the Río Dorado. Here, glide through calm channels by kayak or try your hand at piranha fishing in the warm afternoon sun. As night falls, a thrilling safari reveals the Amazon’s hidden world—glowing eyes in the shadows, the rustle of wings, and the hush of the river under a starlit sky.

Day 3
Amazon Cruise

Yanayacu Pucate:
You will start cruising through the Yanayacu and Pucate Rivers, peeking into different creeks and lagoons. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guide will use his expert eye to pinpoint all the biodiversity of this region. If you want to interact directly with the waters of the Amazon, go out on
one of our kayaks or paddle boards. You will even have the opportunity to see the famous pink dolphins!

Fundo Casual:
The walk at Fundo Casual jungle trail will take you deep into the rainforest on terra firme (non-flooded forest) where your guide will point out the dynamic creatures and vegetation of the Amazon. Be sure to keep an attentive eye open for spotting surprises! Its almost unbelieveable how with every step you find something along the way. Almost
definitely Anaconda, Rainbow Boas, Tarantulas, Poison Frogs, and most recently porquepines have been spotted. This is one of the very few places in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve Amazon Rainforest where you will spot the ever so elusive 2-toed sloth.

Day 4
Amazon Cruise Fundo Casual

Yarapa River:
Along the Yarapa River, you will get to explore this tributary intimately. Listen closely for the sounds from within the mysterious jungle. We travel down river to this wide creek that leads to an attractive hidden lagoon. As we absorb the beauty of the landscape, we will have the chance to reflect on the wildlife. Hawks, terns, herons and monkeys
which are part of our everyday excursions are readily close by; in this area we will notice many more inhabitants of the Amazon, the rivereños. People being an important part of this complex bionetwork only reinforce the fact that we are part of their lives and how our presence here and now could make a difference to the future of this magical land
of the Incas. Look out for specific types of Monkeys like the pygmy marmoset, squirrel monkey, and our first Monk Saki. This medium-sized monkey with the thick fur and bushy tail looks more like he is dressed for the Arctic than the Amazon.

Confluence of the 3 rivers:
Better known as the “Unión de los Ríos” we will toast and witness the distinguished colors of the 3 rivers. It is known that the Ucayali River, which in turn confluences with the Marañón River upstream of Iquitos, Peru, to form what countries other than Brazil consider to be the main stem of the Amazon River. Great photo opportunity as you witness your first Amazon Rainforest Sunset.

Fundo Casual:
In the afternoon, we’ll walk the forest trails of Fundo Casual. With our naturalist guides leading the way, you’ll step once more into the jungle’s embrace—soaking in its sounds, its scents, and its final whispered farewells.

Day 5
Amazon Cruise Disembarkation Iquitos

With warm hearts, our staff will bid you farewell as your journey comes to an end. At Nauta’s port, our team will escort you by private vehicle back to Iquitos, a scenic 95-kilometer drive.

Before your flight, enjoy an interactive activity about melipona stingless bees and their crucial role in the Amazon ecosystem. We’ll also visit the Amazon Research Center for Ornamental Fishes, where you can admire the Amazon’s vibrant aquatic life—from giant arapaima to colorful freshwater stingrays. This final stop offers a beautiful farewell to the region’s rich biodiversity.

Our team will assist with your luggage and check-in at Iquitos airport. At security, your guide and the Delfin crew will warmly say goodbye, hoping your Amazon journey leaves you with unforgettable memories.

Day 2
Amazon Natural Park Yanayacu Pucate

Amazon Natural Park:
This morning, step into the Amazon Natural Park, where the lush trails guide you into the ancient wisdom of the jungle. Along the way, discover the secrets of medicinal plants that have sustained local communities for generations. Your experience deepens as you join a shaman in a traditional ceremony, an intimate ritual that connects you to the spiritual essence of the rainforest.

Yanayacu Pucate:
In the afternoon, the Yanayacu Pucate River invites you to adventure on its mirrored waters. Glide silently by kayak, surrounded by the flooded forest and the vibrant calls of the Amazon’s wildlife—a perspective of the rainforest that few ever experience.

Day 3
Fundo Casual Nauta Caño

Fundo Casual:
In the morning, step into the rainforest at Fundo Casual for a guided trail walk. This area is home to towering ceiba trees, vibrant flora, and fascinating wildlife. As you walk under the forest canopy, your naturalist guide will reveal the ecological wonders and hidden stories of the Amazon.

Nauta Caño:
In the afternoon, the calm waters of Nauta Caño invite you to try your hand at the traditional art of piranha fishing, surrounded by the symphony of the flooded forest. After dinner, return to Nauta Caño for a night safari, where the jungle transforms under starlight. Caimans, owls, and other nocturnal creatures emerge, offering a thrilling glimpse of the Amazon after dark.

Day 4
Amazon Confluence | San José de Paranapura Yarapa River

Amazon Confluence:
Before breakfast, witness one of the Amazon’s most breathtaking sights: the Confluence of the Rivers, where the Ucayali and Marañón join to give birth to the mighty Amazon River. This natural wonder is a powerful reminder of the vastness and unity of the rainforest.

San José de Paranapura:
Later in the morning, visit the welcoming community of San José de Paranapura. Here, you’ll learn about daily life along the river, from traditions and crafts to the ways families live in harmony with their environment.

Yarapa River:
In the afternoon, set out on a skiff exploration of the Yarapa River. Its calm, winding waters are home to a wealth of wildlife, from playful monkeys to colorful birds. Each turn reveals a new glimpse of the thriving biodiversity that makes the Amazon so extraordinary.

Day 5
Amazon forever Disembarkation Iquitos
