Best of Antarctica in depth
Tour Description
The Best of Antarctica - In Depth!
Explore Antarctica's less-trodden destinations on this 14 day cruise exploring Antarctica's East and West Peninsula, including continent landings, perfect for those looking for an expedition to remote and rugged regions of Antarctica.
Embark on the Ocean Endeavour’s Best of Antarctica in depth to experience ice-laden channels and bays, icebergs, calving glaciers, sprawling penguin colonies, seals and other fascinating Antarctic wildlife. This expedition takes you to the lesser visited areas along the east side of Antarctica's Peninsula, with sweeping landscapes, and huge tabular icebergs. Aiming to reach locations including Duse Bay, Prince Gustav Channel, the Danger Islands, Paulet Island and the Eagle group, these areas are famous for exploration history, their geological features and ginormous penguin colonies. The Ocean Endeavour will cruise the Antarctic Sound – a body of water that links east and west sides, be wowed by breathtaking pristine landscapes. On reaching the west side of the peninsular it is time to cap off this already outstanding voyage with some of the continent’s more famous landing sites, perhaps navigate through the Lemaire Channel, or call in at Port Lockroy and Paradise Harbour.
Our days will be filled with shore landings, zodiac exploration, learning about Antarctica history, geology and wildlife, visits to penguin rookeries, always on the lookout for seals, whales, albatross, and other marine life. The Ocean Endeavour offers small ship expedition cruising with the class and comfort of a four-star hotel. One expedition team member for every eight travellers, offers you one of the best staff-passenger ratios in Antarctica, and a larger fleet of zodiacs allows all passengers to be off the ship at one time. Designed for polar expedition cruising with and emphasis on sustainability and exciting activities the Ocean Endeavour offers 360 degree views from the deck, a sauna, salt water pool, spa and gym. You may elect to add extra activities including private photography workshops, Stand-up Paddleboarding, yoga, snowshoeing, kayaking, or camping in Antarctica!
