Greenland Solar Eclipse 2026
Tour Description
Experience one of nature's most dazzling phenomena, a solar eclipse, in one of the world's most awe-inspiring destinations, Greenland!
Cruise on the luxury expedition vessel, the Ocean Albatros, then land ashore on a beach in remote Northeast Greenland, to be in perfect position at the exact centre of the total eclipse.  On August 12, 2026, at 16:37 in the afternoon the shadow of the moon will reach the dramatic and isolated Blosseville Coast, Greenland. Totality will last for 2 minutes and 17 seconds.
Departing from the vibrant Icelandic capital of ReykjavĂk, our journey will lead us straight to the eclipse zone, where we'll witness this awe-inspiring phenomenon amidst breathtaking natural landscapes. Following this spectacle, we'll navigate southward along Greenland's eastern coast, admiring glaciers cascading from the snow-capped peaks of the Watkins Mountains, immersing ourselves in the unique culture of East Greenland in Tasiilaq, and marveling at the majestic fjords and glaciers of Skjoldungen. Continuing our voyage, we'll traverse the impressive Prins Christiansund strait, flanked by glaciers, which separates Kap Farvel (Greenland's southernmost point) from the mainland. Our next destination will take us deep into the fjords of South Greenland to explore the ancient remnants of Erik the Red's farmstead. The verdant pastures and rolling hills of South Greenland vividly illustrate why the Norse settlers bestowed the island with the name Greenland and why they chose to inhabit this lush paradise.
We will visit Nuuk, one of the world's smallest capitals, where traditional wooden houses coexist with modern buildings and locals trade seal and whale meat at the city market and navigate Evighedsfjord, or the "Fjord of Eternity," where numerous glaciers cascade from jagged peaksÂ
Our expedition vessel, the Ocean Albatros, blends comfort, first class dining experiences and expert lectures, to enrich this unparalleled voyage to witness totality on Earth's largest island.
