This expedition commences from Pretoria and embarks on a train voyage from the Highveld's savannahs to the western shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
The initial stop is Kimberley, renowned for its significant role in one of the world's most famous diamond rushes, offering a chance to immerse oneself in the ambiance of a 1870s mining village. The train then traverses the dramatic landscapes of the Northern Cape, passing by the Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon globally, and Garas Park with its mesmerizing quiver-tree forest.
Travelers proceed through the wild allure of the Kalahari Desert, visiting a cheetah conservation initiative before a stopover in Windhoek, Namibia's vibrant capital showcasing a blend of cosmopolitan vibes and German influences. A short flight takes guests to Sossusvlei, a breathtaking pan nestled in the Namib Desert, for an overnight stay, followed by a night in the wildlife-rich Etosha National Park.
On the final morning, the train journey concludes with a scenic route through the Namib Desert, arriving at the impeccably preserved 19th-century German Hansa town of Swakopmund and the picturesque Walvis Bay, marking a memorable conclusion to an extraordinary expedition.
