MS Fram

Named after the famous explorer ship, MS Fram, meaning ‘forward’, was purpose-built in 2007 as a Polar expedition vessel, with spacious outside decks including access to the very front of the ship, to bring passengers closer to wildlife and the incredible vistas of the Arctic and Antarctic. With its high ice-class, chart drawing tools, ship depth sounding database, extractable forward sounding sonar, iceberg search lights, autonomous tracking system, oversized oil retention system for self-sufficiency, and a full ‘expedition tools-deck’ equivalent to a car-deck that holds 25 vehicles, the MS Fram is ideally suited to cruising the Polar regions. Onboard facilities include an observation lounge featuring comfortable sitting areas and large panoramic windows, a multi-level restaurant with wildlife-viewing balcony, well-equipped fitness room, sauna and outdoor hot tubs. The ship offers 125 cabins and suites, all with private bathrooms. In 2020 the MS Fram was completely upgraded with new suites, new cabins, more environmentally friendly engines and a total makeover of all public areas – including new restaurants and a high-tech Science Center.
