Meet Your Crew

Viva Expeditions employs professional, enthusiastic and committed crew who have a strong passion for the South American continent.  Their extensive knowledge of day to day activities in each of the countries you travel through allows a safe and enjoyable journey.  Viva Expeditions often run a two person crew, Tour Leader and Driver, although at times we run with a solo crew member handling both roles. (This is based on passenger numbers and local conditions).

It is important to recognize that our crew are not guides but leaders; they accompany and facilitate the organization of your tour.  Viva employs the additional services of professional local guides with expert knowledge to accompany you at historical sites and activities.

Some of the responsibilities of your crew:

  • Driving and maintaining the expedition vehicle to an extremely high standard
  • Organising permits and border crossings
  • Booking accommodation and activities
  • Organising local guides
  • Shopping and food preparation
  • Maintaining a cohesive and fun environment
  • Socialising with clients and local contacts

PLEASE NOTE:  There is always a certain amount of unpredictability when travelling through a foreign country. Local circumstances can change which may result in your crew making a decision to amend the itinerary. These circumstances often lead to additional work and commitment for our crew who will do all they can to minimize disruption to the tour.  These decisions are never taken lightly and changes made are made with the best interests of the passengers in mind. Please remember that such events occur outside our control.
