Exploring Patagonia, Pumalin & Chiloe
On this incredible journey, we will travel from Ushuaia, Argentina, the most southerly city in the world, through the remote expanses of Patagonia. Explore the southern ice fields, breath-taking glaciers, vast national parks and the magnificent snow-capped Andes mountain range. Travelling north along the famous Route 40 we get off the beaten track and follow around Lake Buenos Aires (also known as Lake General Carrera) and visit to the Marble Caves. Continuing along the famous Carretera Austral and hike the Enchanted Forest, Hanging Glacier and spend a time by the Chilean Fjords. We continue north into the Pumalin National Park, a reserve of forest area that Douglas Tompkins protected for many years. Cross on a barge ferry to the Island of Chiloe we see the cultural differences of the Chilote people and feel as though time has stood still. We finish out tour in the beautiful town of Puerta Varas.
