Antarctic Explorer: with Cape Horn & Diego Ramirez
Explore Antarctica on this very special and unique voyage; not only do we experience the magical Antarctica Peninsula, we also sail to Cape Horn and Diego Ramírez Islands. We journey to the southernmost point of the Tierra del Fuego (“Land of Fire”) at the end of South America. Cape Horn is the most isolated place in the Americas, we aim, weather permitting to land and visit the lighthouse and monument. We voyage to the Diego Ramírez Islands, the most southern point of South America and one of the least-explored places on the planet. Home to millions of breeding seabirds, and the southernmost albatross breeding ground in the world, on the Diego Ramirez islands we look out for black-browed albatross, shy albatross and grey-headed albatross. Dolphins, South American fur seals, and rockhopper, macaroni and Magellanic penguins can also be found in this vicinity.
Reaching the stunning Antarctic Peninsula, we explore dramatic landscapes, penguin colonies, and other sites by Zodiac and on foot. Alongside close encounters with penguins, whales, seals and birds, we are informed by our expert expedition leaders on the history, biology and glaciology of Antarctica.
Antarctica has been inspiring explorers for centuries—now it’s your turn. Join us on the purpose-built Ultramarine as we discover Antarctica, Cape Horn and the Diego Ramírez Islands.
