Take part in a cultural show at Waitangi to learn more about the Maori culture and New Zealands history. Leave the Bay of Islands behind and head further north for your next few days. The Far North won't disappoint and you can experience stunning beaches like Matai Bay and Rarawa Beach, 90 mile beach, Te Paki sand dunes, a champion-standard golf course and indulge in some delicious food and local wine. Drive the Kauri Coast as you head back to Auckland, stop at Waipoua Forest and explore the ancient subtropical rain forest that once grew here, Tane Mahuta - the God of the Forest, is the most famous tree in New Zealand.
