Meet your helicopter and personal pilot for the day at North Shore Airport, as we take to the skies the stunning vistas of the region spread out below, your pilot will give you full commentary along the way.
We make a stop at Footwhistle cave in the Waitomo area, to enjoy an exclusive glow worm cave tour. This is an intimate experience, where the solar powered lights are kept low so you can appreciate the magnificent glow worm displays at their best, only inches away. Around a corner lie the bones of one of New Zealand's lost treasures, the ancient Moa. The stunning cave formations glow in the warm light, and the soothing sound of Footwhistle cave stream flows in the darkness below.
Fly on to Solitaire Lodge for a luxurious lunch. With stunning views over natural bush and volcanic landscapes, Solitaire is premiere luxury lodge. No lunch is the same, the chef is always busy creating daily changing menus to reflect the season, and local flavours.
Take a dramatic flight over Mount Tarawera, this sleeping volcano crater is a gaping six kilometre ravine, a clear testament to the ferocity of the 1866 eruption, and is best viewed from air. You will be able to witness more fantastic scenes as we fly back to Auckland, via the scenic route. In the comfort and luxury of twin engine helicopter, this will be a magical day.
