Tour Description

Sail the stunning coastline and coves of Abel Tasman National Park on an exclusive, luxury sailing vessel, then stay in remote comfort in secluded Awaroa Bay! This will be a truly special experience for you and your friends & family.

The sailing catamaran has four master queen cabins with their own ensuite, ample room on the deck and a well equipped galley and indoor dining area.  Relax onboard, swim off the boat, take a stand up paddle board or dinghy for a ride, fish or snorkel at your leisure. Your private skipper take you to some favourite spots, explore Adele Island, Te Pukatea Bay, and Anchorage Bay, sail Tonga Island Marine Reserve, cruise remote Separation Point, and check out the friendly seals at Mutton Point. At night admire the sensational night skies, and let the ocean rock you to sleep.

After 3 days on the vessel you will be dropped off at Awaroa Bay, where your lodge for the next couple of nights, is situated in a very secluded location in the Abel Tasman National Park. Enjoy some shorter walks in the nearby native forest and maybe a longer one the next day. There will be time to relax at the beach, treat yourself with a wonderful massage at the Day Spa. Then travel by sea shuttle back to Kaiteriteri or walk part of the famous NZ Great Walk in the lush, native bush of the coastal trail before your adventure ends.

Day 1
Nelson Abel Tasman National Park

Arrive in Nelson and make your way to the port. Depart Nelson around 10am and sail across Tasman Bay for Abel Tasman National Park.  Explore the coastline including Adele Island and Te Pukatea Bay. Maybe a short walk over to Anchorage Bay.  Stay the night on board at Te Pukatea or Anchorage (weather dependent).

Day 2
Abel Tasman National Park

Head further north exploring Abel Tasman National Park.  Sail through Tonga Island Marine Reserve, maybe check out the seals in the hidden Shag Harbour. Sail further into the more remote northern end of the park to Separation Point.  Stay the night at Mutton Cove and enjoy the nearby seal colony.

Day 3
Abel Tasman National Park

After a morning exploring with beach time, maybe some water sports, sail to Awaroa Lodge. Arrive Awaroa Lodge at approximately 1pm. Surrounded by pristine waterways and native forest, the Lodge has been constructed to make the most of its secluded location which is not accessible by road. The main lodge is warm, inviting and full of character with a comfy lounge, library, bar, restaurant and outdoor pizzeria. Enjoy a range of activities like a guided walk or kayak (can be booked locally), relax on the famous Awaroa beach or take a walk through the grounds and surrounds. Perhaps enjoy a wonderful massage, wrap or facial at the spa. Overnight at Awaroa Lodge

Day 4
Abel Tasman National Park

Enjoy a day at the lodge and surrounds, perhaps take a hike or swim at the beach.

Day 5
Abel Tasman National Park Nelson

Sea Shuttle back to Kaiteriteri or option to walk to Tonga Bay and take the Sea Shuttle back from there to Kaiteriteri. Bus back to Nelson.
