Join us on this 7 day adventure to explore the highlights of Guatemala! Discover volcano-studded horizons, abundant forests and cobblestone streets while you experience the culture and history of an ancient Mayan civilization.

The journey begins in the the charming colonial city of Antigua, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the vibrant and colourful market in Chichicastenango, visit Lake Atitlan, surrounded by three cone-shaped volcanoes. Discover the ancient Mayan citadels and archaeological sites of Yaxha and Tikal, located deep in the jungle with more than 3,000 ancient and impressive structures.

Day 1
Guatemala City Antigua

Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Antigua

Day 2
Antigua

Guided tour visiting the Plaza de Armas, Palace of the Captains, Cathedral, several churches and monasteries. Continuing on, we visit a jade factory and the handicraft market. We will also visit the nearby towns of San Antonio Aguascalientes and Ciudad Vieja. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 3
Antigua Lake Atitlan

After breakfast we take off to the Guatemalan Highlands along the Panamerican Highway. Our first stop is in Chichicastenango: a traditional K'iche-Indian town in the mountains. Plenty of time allowed here to explore the traditional markets, before making our way to Panajachel on the shores of lake Atitlán, where we will be spending the night.

Day 4
Lake Atitlan Guatemala City

After breakfast we cross the lake by boat and visit Santiago Atitlán; the biggest town on the lake. This village is located on the south part of Lake Atitlan, on the skirts of the Atitlan Volcano. After a short walk, we will visit the church of Santiago Apostol, followed by a visit to the confraternity of Maximón. Return to Panajachel and transfer to Guatemala City.

Day 5
Guatemala City Flores

You will be given a boxed breakfast at 05:00 am, when we will be transferred to the airport to board a flight to Peten. At arrival, we go straight to the archaeological site of Tikal (“Place of Voices”), surrounded by the tropical forest. Visit the main plaza and the temple of the Great Jaguar, central acropolis, Mundo Perdido and temple IV from where you can observe the majesty of the city and the emerald green jungle. After lunch (included) you get transferred to your hotel in Flores.

Day 6
Flores Guatemala City

After breakfast you get transferred to the archaeological site of Yaxha and Topoxté.
Upon arrival, visit the site of Yaxha, followed by a boat trip on the Yaxha Lagoon to visit the Site Topoxté. From here you can observe how nature has mixed with archaeology. We return to the visitor center for lunch at Camp El Sombrero (included). Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Guatemala City and transfer to hotel.

Day 7
Guatemala City Depart

After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for your outward flight.
